My Students
I am a school counselor at a Title I public school in North Philadelphia. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are resilient and spunky. Their talents are being cultivated each and every day. They have the ability to create lasting impressions.
My kids are eager to learn and challenge the adults around them.
They often appear as percussionists without drums, singers lacking mics, artists who use unlikely mediums to convey their creativity, and folk tellers who spin wonderful stories when asked the simplest of questions.
My Project
When children grow too tall for their pants, we can cut the pants, and they become shorts. If their feet grow too big for their shoes, there's only one remedy for that. I would like my kids to feel that I care about their whole being, including their soles. Unfortunately, I cannot financially provide for all of them, and, to be honest, I did not include as many as I wanted in the hopes that this one would be funded. Please help! It is time for new shoes!
These little feet have worn down their current shoes and need your support in staying dry and comfortable for the remainder of the year.
