My students need a Graftobian Student Theatrical makeup kit, Mehron Special FX kit, a Tri-Fold Lighted mirror with 5x magnification, and an eye shadow palette makeup kit.
My theatre students are eager to delve into their creative sides by designing their own stage makeup with proper theatre production quality makeup and special effects products. My theatre class does two productions per school year and need the supplies to bring their character designs to life!
My school is a rural school that is the center of the community.
The school has a long tradition of basketball. Many of the children have families who have been in the community for several generations. The school is the hub of the community with rich traditions. The students are hungry for expanded fine arts opportunities.
My Project
My students will use these stage makeup and special effects kits to bring their character designs to life. This class will be producing to plays: a zombie play and Blithe Spirit. These two plays will provide different makeup design opportunities for my students. They will create their own character designs on paper then attempt to bring those designs to life with these supplies. They will perform these plays for the school and public, providing an opportunity to show off their hard work. Some of my students want to pursue a career as theatrical/film makeup artist after high school, this project will help give them the experience they need and crave.
My students are hungry for fine arts experiences.
This is the second year they've had theatre, last year these students thrived in their first school productions. I will have many of these students again. I want to expand their opportunities and give them an experience they've been asking for, the opportunity to do make special effects makeup just like we've learned about. They want to see how they can turn their practical knowledge into application and how far their creativity will take them.
