Albert Einstein said, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” I have come to value differences in student intelligences, which is why I am really excited to integrate a Theatre Arts program at our school this year.
Theatre allows students to come together as members of a community and showcase each of their special talents - from acting to play analysis to design and technology.
It helps to bring learning to life and teaches students how to synthesize their learning. Also, because we are a K-12 school, Theatre is a place where students can become a part of a community. It teaches students how to value differences and synergize their efforts to create something truly remarkable.
This year, our school is growing our Theatre Arts department and will producing full-scale productions for 6th-12th graders. We are seeking help to buy a laptop that can handle multiple media such as sound and projections to enhance our performances.
Since "all the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players," we need YOU to join our community in help bring our productions to life.
We will use the laptop in our productions to mix sound and run soundtracks as well as cast projections for backdrops. It will also be used as a mobile device to communicate to parents and community members. We also hope to be able to take productions "on the road" to elementary schools and provide theatre education for younger students as well.
Thank you for considering Sky Pointe Theatre in your donations. We a truly grateful for such willing and generous partners!
