The Zen Den

Help me give my students a place to calm down by providing a space for them. The area rug will help an ENTIRE class (25+ students) when we are building trust in relationships and calm down techniques.

My Students

Each one of these kids are MY kids. We are borderline Title I school, with students who love without end, but need like no other.

We believe that mindset is key and anything is possible.

We also believe in maximizing EVERY student's academic learning and empowering personal responsibility.

My Project

Each item will be strategically used to benefit students. The plan is to make each classroom a calm down kit or a Zen Den tool kit, which will benefit students when they need a time away or a minute to regroup or calm down.

Each kit will have stress relief items, instructions, fidget toys, and breathing tools.

These kids are designed to use while in school, out on the playground, at home, and ANYWHERE. There will be techniques and skill building activities associated with each kit.

In the counseling room, there will be a specific spot for students to go if they also need a time away from their classroom. This are is called The Zen Den that is similar to their classroom, but where no one is around and it is more of a quiet environment.
