This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am proud to introduce you to some of the best students you will ever meet! I work at a Title 1 school nestled in the blue ridge mountains in southwestern Virginia. Our school is Title 1 due to the extreme poverty of the area. All of my students qualify for free lunch and breakfast. Despite, the many challenges and hardships my students face. They come to school everyday with a passion to learn and a work ethic to succeed.
My students come from all walks of life - representing different backgrounds, ethnic groups and languages.
Sadly, I have students who experience homelessness and inconsistent living situations. I strive to create a consistent and safe environment where my students can grow and learn to the best of their abilities.
My Project
Our classroom is requesting notebooks and writing utensils to help turn our rough ideas into well developed inspirations. My students love to write and express themselves in written form whenever possible.
It is my goal to give my students the keys they need become inspirational and successful writers.
It is amazing how many notebooks a classroom can go through. The parents of my students always contribute what they can, when they can. However, many are unable to provide what their children need for the school year. These supplies will help my students to have more of what they need to succeed. I appreciate you looking into donating to our classroom and investing in the future of my students.
