My students are multilingual learners who work hard and try their best. They are very motivated to learn, love to be active, and enjoy trying new activities. All of the students I teach live in poverty. Oftentimes, my students will not have the same experiences or opportunities as their peers. My students would love to have more opportunities to learn and grow.
My students are hard workers, yet face daily challenges of having limited resources readily available.
I want to do all I can to provide experiences and materials to them so that they have the same opportunities to learn like others.
My Project
Throughout the school day, I work with several small groups of students in my classroom. We spend this small group time together reading, writing, and calculating math problems around a table. Our current table is no longer in the best of shape and as the legs do not adjust, most of my younger learners have their legs dangling from their chairs as they can't touch the floor as the table is too high for them. The table is also not very wide and it feels very crowded.
I would love for our classroom to get a new table that has a whiteboard top so students can write directly on the table as we work and learn.
This particular table is adjustable and can easily accommodate my smallest kindergarten student, yet it can also easily change to a height that works for my tallest fifth grade student. It is also very easy to move around the classroom. The best part about the table is that it will allow my students to use their whiteboard markers directly on the table. We can easily work out math problems together or practice writing letters and words. This table will help my students stay engaged while working and they will think it's great fun to be allowed to write on the table! This table will allow my students to collaborate easily with their classmates.
