My Students
My students are English Language learners and are mostly enthusiastic about school. They will be taking 3 standardized state tests this year: Writing, Reading, and Math.
Typically, English Language learners do not perform as well as other groups at our school.
I have to work quite a bit on their self-esteem as well as their academics. Creating a positive learning environment is very important for my students. Hopefully, with the help of this project I can turn around their performance.
My Project
My students are not performing as well as their peers in Revising and Editing. I want to engage them in fun and interactive games using the buzzers. I have already implemented alternative seating and the kids love it! However, the students need clipboards so that they may have the freedom to sit where they like in the room and collaborate with their classmates. Additionally, we need new privacy folders for testing. Our current privacy folders are worn down. I would like our classroom to look professional! With the edition of the buzzers, clipboards, and privacy folders, I know that the students will feel like they are in a mutually supportive environment.
