My Students

My students are home town outdoor kids who don't know much about their own home. We are an agricultural-based town with some migrant workers. Thirty percent of our students are Hispanic. Many of my students are a little behind in science and our science department is trying to break some misconceptions about science and help kids get excited about it.

There is no better feeling in the world than when a student you are working with finds and pursues a passion they have attained.

If I can be an instrument in helping them attain their goals than true teaching is happening.

My Project

In a world that revolves around electricity and magnetism, this generation sometimes takes for granted how they work. We plan to introduce electricity to our students by adding a Tesla coil and a Van de Graaf Generator to our tools of electricity. With these tools we plan to investigate the nature of the Electron and Electricity.

Some tools of electricity are key in the investigation of electricity and the electron.

We hope to be able to incorporate these tools to help us understand lightning and Weather, as well as compliment our physics tools to study, voltage, resistance, amperage, and many other key components of Science.
