My students need hands on atlases to get a better understanding of the world around them. Google Maps is fun, but rarely lets them see the full picture.
The students at Beehive Science and Technology Academy are an energetic group of learners. Many students don't have a support system at home in our Title I designated school. We are lucky to have a fair amount of tech toys at our school to better prepare our students for the real world.
Our students enjoy a multi-faceted approach to learning about the real world through hands-on experiences.
I know that any donations to my class would enhance their capabilities. Thank you
My Project
My students thrive off of interactive activities. I do a lot of discussion that lead to students analyzing and deducing on why a certain part of the world might be the way it is because of their geography.
The students will get a better understanding of the world around them by interpreting hardcopy atlases.
My students will be able to do their "Spy Tracker" activities more easily, this is when I have a worksheet that gives them coordinates and descriptions of places that they have to locate and describe as if they are trying to catch a spy traveling around the world. Hopefully they will be getting a better understanding of how geography impacts the world.
