My students are creative, inquisitive, and constantly wanting to learn new things! They are so intelligent and wise, and I learn more from them than I think they learn from me sometimes! They absolutely love using technology whenever possible, but right now technology is being used as an enhancement to our "traditional lessons," and I want to give them the opportunity to explore technology more often on a daily basis.
My classroom is truly filled with future world changers who are going to make the world a better place, and I hope I can do everything I can as a teacher to help them accomplish all they are meant to do in this world!
My students are constantly practicing growth mindsets and learning from their mistakes in our classroom. They are learning each and every day how to be brave yet kind, how to learn from their failures, and how to grow personally and academically. I love teaching my students so very much and look forward to learning with them each day!
My Project
My fourth graders are so curious about the world around them and the ever-changing pace of technology! My hope is to keep their curiosity alive and enhance their learning through the use of Chromebooks in my classroom. We currently have 15 Chromebooks in my classroom. My students love those Chromebooks and would be on them all day if they could; however, with only a partial class set, that isn't possible right now. My dream is to give my students a 1:1 experience with technology in the very near future! I have worked at a school in the past that was 1:1, and I loved seeing those students change their perspective of what school could be in their lives. It was no longer a burden or another thing to do in the day, it was a chance to expand their minds for the better.
Being at that school helped me realize that, if we as teachers are going to change our students' lives, we need to help them take advantage of the changing world right now so they are prepared to make a difference when they themselves enter the world.
I want to use websites that enhance learning and give the power to my students to move at their own pace. I want to show them that it's okay to not know the answer to every question in the world and that in this day and age there are resources available to help you find the answers to your burning questions. I want to go paperless with my assessments and worksheets and still help my students with reading comprehension and math reteaching so they can be successful. I want to give my students the opportunity to experience the world from the comfort of our classroom through technology.
