Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Welcome to three open-enrollment, AP English Literature classes in one of the nation's largest public high schools! I teach 12th grade AP English Literature to students in the "honors" building of one of the largest high schools in the country. A diverse mix of many ethnicities, many of these urban students will have the honor - and responsibility - of being the first in their families to attend college. In our academic section of the high school, the coursework is rigorous and the students attend classes from 7:30am to 4:oopm. Most of these classes are AP or honors level. Can you imagine how much information these children are asked to learn and retain? How about taking a break from all the information by having fun with it? With a classroom challenger system, students can compete against each other in small teams. Finally, those shy students have the opportunity to shine! Buttons, buzzers, and lights add an excitement that study groups or conventional tests can never match. Students will get to see how FUN it is to be smart! By donating, you will make it possible for these underprivileged students to take their knowledge to a fun and challenging level.
