Help me give my students with autism the opportunity to make visual connections that appear much more real in color than they do in black and white.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are inner-city, lower socio-economic preschoolers on the Autism Spectrum. Most are non-verbal. Parents are new arrivals to this country who are doing their best to help their children.
My class was added in mid-July due to the explosion of kids on the Spectrum in New Jersey.
As a result, I am in a room with very few materials other than the ones that I have brought from home or purchased myself.
I want to enable these children to become the best that they can be. Fine motor, sensory materials and exposure to language all play a very important part in this process.
My Project
Help me give my students the gift of color! I have a monochrome printer that doesn’t help my students to fully understand the images that I have printed since they lack detail and color.
I do a lot of printing to create visual schedules for students and picture cue cards.
It would be very beneficial to have a color printer in my classroom to customize programs and prompts as needed in real time. Since they lack language, my students are engaged when they are shown pictures of images that are recognizable to them. The addition of color to an image will make a world of difference in their being able to recognize the image that they are being shown.
