I teach 7th-grade low-income students. My students strive to do the very best in understanding world history and I try to make history come alive for them. I have a great group of students this year. All 93 will benefit as a whole. The students strive to do their best every day.
❝Language is the road map of a culture, it tells you where its people come from and where they are going.❞‒Rita Mae Brown
I believe that my students would benefit from the Microsoft Surface. It will give me a resource with working in small groups and whole class. Students need to see and use current history that allows them to relate it to the past.
Students going into the seventh grade have never had any world history at all. Most of the information is new to them, with the exception of some American History they had in 4th and 5th grade. It is a hard concept to teach when they are just learning new information. It is hard for students to connect. I think the Microsoft Surface Go Edu will bring that aspect to students.
My Project
My students will be excited to have a new resource in the classroom to help them become better citizens of the World. Learning new standards that have never been used before is a big task for the 7th graders. They will benefit by using the Microsoft Surface and accessories to help students watch videos of revolutions of the past and relate them to current revolutions.
We are not makers of history, we are made by history; Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King said it best in his quote, we are made by history. I hope that is what my students take away from my class. Students strive to do their best and work at alarming rates to get their work done. I want the best for my students so they can strive to become historians.
My students love to do stations and the Microsoft Surface will give them another station to explore the past and connect it to the future. The students in my class may become leaders in our town, our state house or maybe higher. Making these connections will allow them to make bigger connections in their lives.
