My students need materials that will motivate and engage them in learning through the guided reading process such as finger lights, buzzers, unifix cubes and flash cards, plus tablet covers to protect the technology in the classroom.
My scholars are children from low-income neighborhoods, but that is not who they are. They are bright, ambitious, inquisitive, and funny and they are ready to excel even greater than their previous school year. They attend an arts infusion charter school that believes that high expectations equal results and nothing less than excellence is accepted. We push our students to succeed above and beyond in a society where all odds are against them. My scholars are the reason I get up and teach every single day.
My Project
The materials I'm requesting will make a difference in my scholars' learning and improve their school lives by providing them a fun, engaging, and motivating classroom environment.
All the materials I requested will encourage scholars to want to learn and push themselves in their literacy skills.
My scholars will benefit from the engaging and fun activities I intend to plan with these materials. Scholars will have fun shooting the Nerf gun at sight words they need to identify. Scholars will be engaged in reading their leveled texts with googly eyes and finger lights. Scholars will be motivated to participate in reviews as they buzz in on their buzzer answer lights. Scholars who are tactile will have fun manipulating letters with CVC Unifix cubes. The possibilities are endless! In addition, the tablet covers will help scholars practice responsibility in the classroom.
