This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is blessed with a large number of extremely talented young performers. However, access to the performing arts is not always open for our children given the low income demographic. This year, we are producing a spring musical for the very first time. For our first show, we are producing The Wiz Jr.

Our students have never been more excited to come to school and feel like they have a place where they are accepted and celebrated for their creativity and personalities.

This is the opportunity that our students need to feel that they can have a better future in spite of the boundaries that are out of their control.
