We are a Title I school, where most of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Some of our students and parents don't speak English and have trouble helping with homework. Some students' English vocabulary is limited. Most of the English they learn comes from school.
Nothing stops my students.
I have wonderful, loving, energetic and creative students! They are excited and ready to learn. They are first graders, so they love to talk and move around. They need a lot of different hands-on and creative ways to learn.
They have very positive attitudes and believe they can do anything. They are smart and extremely creative but at different levels. I have to differentiate their lessons and give them a lot of hands-on experiences to help them be successful. This will give them a hand to pull them back on track and not lose their confidence and to continue on a path of academic excellence.
We have an awesome group of first graders! We usually have our end of the year field trip in town, which is a movie and pizza restaurant. This year we decided to try something different and take our little ones out of town.
We want to give our little ones the exposure to performing arts and and the fun hands on activities and exhibits of science.
We will take them to the Magic Theater to see the performance of Willy Wonka. Most of our students have never seen a play performance. Our first graders love science and will get to see different science exhibits and do hand on activities. They will get this opportunity at the Doseum. This field trip is will not only be fun and educational but it will give our students so many more experiences that will help them in their educational career.
