Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are exciting, enthusiastic, lifelong learners who love being at school. As an ATPE teacher in a low income/high poverty area, my students look forward to school in order to keep their minds off the situations they encounter in their home life. Their backgrounds are all different and unique, but the similarity is that they love listening to stories, learning centers and discovering themselves every day. By providing the students with new and exciting things every day I hope to encourage their minds to seek the best for themselves no matter what situation they are faced with.
My Project
I want to be the teacher that inspires, excites, and motivates future generations! Teaching is my passion. I wake up excited to go to school! I want to spread that same passion to my students! I want to make a difference in the lives of the children I am blessed enough to work with, and more importantly, I want them to believe that they can make a difference!
Going to the Ron Clark Academy for professional development training will have me learning from the best!
I will be learning strategies for effective classroom discipline and learn how to integrate music and movement into the classroom. I will also learn how to increase student engagement through higher-order questioning, how to teach creatively while achieving high standardized tests, how to implement games in the classroom that promote student engagement.
I will also learn how to promote academic rigor while meeting the needs of all learners, and how to create a climate and culture that promotes student success. This project will cover the cost of registration for professional development training at the Ron Clark Academy, lodging, and transportation.
I am sure I will return to my district pumped up and excited to share the amazing things I've learned with other educators in the area. When they bring these to their classrooms, the impact will be endless! This project will reach beyond 999 students!
