I currently have a group of well-rounded, diverse, and inquisitive students. I could not have hand-picked a better class when it comes to eagerness to learn. They are observant and interested in every spectrum of education.
Our community has very few activities for children.
What they do at school is a large basis of their experiences, as many have not and will not venture from this town until they are adults. I put fun into all activities and hope they continue to see the fun in learning in their future years.
My Project
In addition to our other posted project, we need tools and paper supplies to round out what is needed for our makerspace. The tools and safety items will be used in conjunction with building planning created by the students. Nuts and bolts can serve as wheel bearings for handmade cars, hinges will allow students to include doors on their wooden homes or boxes, and the complete toolset will give them hands-on life experience with real tools. BISON LIFE safety goggles will protect their eyes while working. Sparco long reach stapler will ensure journals can be made at any size.
This largely STEM-based project continues year round with daily time to work on their creations.
Even with the limited supplies we currently have, the kids have come up with some pretty neat projects. If they had more tangible items to manipulate, their creativity could soar even further. Our makerspace museum houses current completed projects for the entire school community to view.
