Hello! I teach a special needs class of students ages three to five. Currently, I have ten students, but I expect my class to grow throughout the school year. As a special education teacher, I receive new students all year long. Most of my students have developmental delays such as Autism, intellectual disability, as well as fine and gross motor delays. My school was hit hard by the Hurricane Harvey flooding. We lost everything due to water damage. Thanks to generous donations from donors like you, my classroom has replaced much of our furniture and many of our lost materials.
My students love using tablets to play educational games and there is much competition to see who gets to use the tablet during our computer time.
I'd like to get another iPad. I have one iPad but it is broken. I need a new one so my students can use the awesome Osmo educational software given to us by a donor.
My Project
My youngest students enjoy the touch screen features of the Amazon Fire and the iPad we currently have in the classroom. Unfortunately our iPad is no longer working and we can't use the specialized software we got to go with it.
I'd like to get a new iPad and a shock resistant cover to protect it from drops and impacts that can occur during use.
With the touch screen of the iPad even my students with poor fine motor skills can independently access the computer. All my students really enjoy using the iPad software and miss it since it has been gone.
