This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My awesome little students are mostly from low-income families with amazing parents who push them to succeed. They are creative and love working as a team! They appreciate every little thing I do for them, and I know they will be thrilled to get a project funded! With over 90% on free lunch, they do not have a lot of books at their homes! Our second grade team works closely together so we will share any projects that get funded.

My Project

This classroom magazine subscription would be amazing for our Second Graders. Our low income families do not have a lot of space for books at home, and magazines can easily be kept in a backpack to be read again and again without taking up much space.

Time for Kids is a great resource to bring more of the much forgotten Social Studies standards back into our classrooms!

We have to educate our kiddos on real world current events so they can make informed decisions about the world when they get older. These magazines can be used seamlessly with our current language arts curriculum and our new engineering and science standards as well! There are usually graphing pages included to incorporate math also.
