I work with an amazing group of teachers that are constantly trying to find ways to engage their kindergarten learners. There are four kindergarten classes in our building and multiple sets of twins. The children are discovering themselves as learners.
Literacy is invaluable and tying it with STEM is powerful!
Our students work to investigate story problems and try to find solutions. Teachers take learning out of the pages of the book to make it real and meaningful. Children become the leaders of their learning.
Students at a young age benefit a great deal from hands-on experiences that help them build their understanding of what they are asked to learn. This is extremely powerful when students can integrate these STEM skills into literacy activities. These kits support an entire unit the students work on in reading.
These kits will help students create a structure that is strong enough to withstand the strong wind from The Big Bad Wolf.
The power of this type of learning will help students become stronger in their comprehension knowledge and also their interest in digging deeper and finding problems/solutions in books. These are great early reading strategies that will help students as they grow as readers and learners.
