My Project

I teach Special Education Students in a High School Classroom. I believe having my students develop their artistic ability and be able to relax with colors and art pieces will help with their Social and Emotional Learning as well as their class work. We are working to increase our engagement and provide opportunities for students to create original work as well as a way to release their stress, worries, and concerns. Through this project, we will be able to add an art center to our classroom as well as incorporate more craft activities into our curriculum.

The art desk will be used for painting, drawing, and coloring during center time as well as instructional time.

The supplies will allow my students to express themselves in ways that they can not do currently. It will also be a way for students to choose to do artistic creations instead of writing a paper, doing a google glide, or writing a poem. I want my children to do alternative assignments that they want to work on.
