My Students

Ahoy! We are home to the Mateys! We are fortunate to be able to launch our charter school in Sacramento, CA. Our school houses almost 340 elementary students, grades kindergarten through 5th. When you walk on our campus, you will experience the joy of student leaders smiling in the hallways, synergizing in class, working together on the playground, and helping each other in the cafeteria.

Our students are eager to learn and play.

As a recognized Leader in Me school we focus on community service and active leadership opportunities.

We strive to build the importance of living happy, healthy lives and "sharpening our saws" by staying physically active in our garden.

My Project

The Shed will provide a safe and secure place for all of the gardening materials for our weekly elementary Garden Club. Currently, we have shovels, wheelbarrows, spades, brooms, and seeds all exposed to the elements. Our goal is to provide a shed for the students to utilize daily, as well as for the Garden Club. The students learn about the natural cycle of planting, and take ownership of the planting, weeding, fertilizing, and watering. We also provide leadership opportunities for older students to mentor and build relationships with our primary students. The shed will allow a safe way for students to continue their gardening work, or others who are not on the Club to participate during their recess.
