Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher, I have seen that having a high quality pre-kindergarten program makes a significant difference in childrens success. My class is made up of children that come from different social economical backgrounds. I would like for all the children to work at the same playing field and learn different things. I teach in a dual language classroom (English and Spanish ) where the students are curious and eager to learn a second language. At this age, children need stimulation so that they don't get tired and bored. The students come in eager and ready. Pre-k is all about learning through play and center time is when we incorporate playful learning. My children are very hands-on and love their center time. We are consistently taking pictures of the children working around the classroom with friends as they take ownership and feel happy to see themselves in action.
My Project
Please help us on gaining a new music center for our students. There is so much you can gain with the power of music. Music helps develop language, reasoning as well as helping students focus.
The 30- Rhythm music box will help in giving us a variety of musical instruments for our children to be able to play with.
The nature sound instruments will help our students when we learn about the sense of auditory (hearing). We will use these instruments during center (play) time as well as school performances.
We can't wait till our students play with these new instruments and are able to create their own sound of music.
