Ms. Eisner from Chicago IL is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need headphones for the online math games and exercises. There are important resources that require sound, and it is distracting to the other students if a student does not have headphones.

Our school is almost entirely low income African American students. According to the Illinois Report Card, the demographics of our school is 94.5% African American and 5.2% Hispanic. 99.1% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. 14.7% of students have disabilities. 13% of students are considered homeless.
The students who are in my math invention classes are below grade level, but still on the cusp.
The students struggle with math but still enjoy playing math games and have a strong desire to improve their math understanding and reach their goals.
The students are working on Vmath, which is a curriculum that helps students who are below grade level fill in the necessary gaps to get back on grade level. Students are in small groups and receive a targeted lesson and then get individualized help to complete exercises and explain their new knowledge.
Students work independently on a program that helps solidify what they have learned and get fluency in skills they had previously missed.
During the independent work, students need headphones in order to utilize the program. If they miss a problem, there is a short video that explains how to complete the problem. Without sound, the video isn't nearly as helpful. Without, headphones the students either can't have sound or they distract their peers.
