My students need a new rug! They will use it during group discussions, to enjoy books, and as a place to sit during interactive lessons. It'll help create a warm environment

Save my children from cold and dirt! We have tile floors. Children love to sprawl/sit on the floor and read. We also like to sit on the floor to have interactive lessons & discussions. We had carpet squares but they are worn out. We had foam squares, but they are not very durable and are difficult to clean.
My class is full of wonderful children.
The majority of them living below the poverty line. Since their homes may not have the best. it is important that at school they have the best I can provide. Focusing is an issue and if I can bring them up close and do interactive lessons, I can capture their attention and interest. It is important that they develop a love of reading and when we have silent reading, they really enjoy finding spots around the room to sit quietly and read. Their favorite way of reading is to sprawl out and just lose themselves in their reading.
This beautiful Tropical Night Carpet will be a beacon welcoming the children in the room. It is durable and can be vacuumed daily to keep it clean. It will be a great place to have class meetings because it is large enough to hold the students and yet they will all have personal space. The rug design will be a symbol of explorative thinking, thinking out of the box, and thinking big.
This is an important project because it will be a meeting place to help create a welcoming learning community.
It is important because it will provide a place for the students to read silently, to participate in interactive lessons, to listen to read alouds, to participate in group discussions, to share oral reports, to participate in hands-on engaging math lessons, and more. The stars on the carpet will remind the students the sky is the limit for them when they dream big, read and think.
