My students are hard working, creative, and determined in regards to their education and different passions in life. The sixth grade students at Quinsigamond Elementary School love to learn and are always willing to try different styles and ways of learning. The students love to engage in unique learning such as different opportunities with technology as well as hands on learning such as STEM. These students are ready and prepared to meet any challenge that faces them in the classroom.
My students attend Quinsigamond Elementary School which is located in Worcester, MA.
They bring to our school many different cultures, languages, and backgrounds. This gives our school strength and an outstanding opportunity to learn about not only the backgrounds of each student but also all the different customs that exist around our world. The student population comes from low income families that are very much involved with the school system and helping their children grow.
The students are truly inspiring and resourceful with their everyday lives and learning. They are committed to growing personally and academically throughout the school year. I’m excited to begin the new school year with such an outstanding group of students.
My Project
The materials selected will make a tremendous difference to my student’s learning. The Chromebooks, headphones and charging cart will allow students to engage in different math and science technology online. This involves accessing educational websites and research they will need to complete assignments and projects. The seating chosen will allow flexible seating for those students that struggle sitting still in a chair. These chairs allow them to move while still completing their school work so they are not put at a disadvantage. The final materials such as the tennis balls and storage will allow for a productive learning place bringing organization and a lack of distracting noises to the students in the classroom. These materials would make a substantial difference in the student’s learning allowing them to be more engaged and productive with their school work.
