Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Brave. This word best describe the students I service because of their willingness to overcome all obstacles they face in life to become successful; despite everything that tells them they may fail. Not only do my students come from various backgrounds, but their life experiences are very unique. Many, if not all, of my students come from poverty and parent involvement is lacking. Some students are facing drug abuse, single-parent striving to make ends meet, parents that are in and out of jail, and others who spend their time at home alone.
Despite the lack of support from home, my students come to school eager to learn every day and motivated to achieve their dreams.
As their teacher, I try my best to provide all that I can during the time that I have them. I can only do this with your support.
My Project
The use of a pencil is a daily necessity in my classroom. Unfortunately, with many of the problems that my students face, the last of their worries is to bring a pencil to class.
Because my class is a writing class, this supply is extremely important.
These pencils will allow my students to get their essays done at their best potential. I specifically chose the Ticonderoga pencils because they are the best quality pencils out there, and will last a lot longer than most. The red pens will be used for their peer-editing in the classroom. Your support is greatly appreciated!
