This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in a very culturally diverse school district where my students are brilliant, self motivators, creatives and entrepreneurial minded. Each year, I teach students ranging from the 9th -12th grade, in the subjects of Accounting, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Business Mgt, Business 101 and Career Exploration. My students are very interested in running their own business, so much that they put in the work necessary to ensure the success of our school store that is located in the building. The students manage the financing, orders, inventory management, merchandising, staffing, etc.

My Project

With this project, the students will produce a market and sell products for our school store. With this product, we will be able to produce our own products that the students will sell to our community. This project will provide a hands-on experience for the students. Students will be able to produce school branded t-shirts and other items for our community, which includes but is not limited to class shirts. This will assist us in not only teaching the students about the production process, but the marketing, sales, human resources and accounting that goes into the production and management of and successful t-shirt business.
