My Students

My students attend a diverse, inclusive, and amazing Title I school in upstate New York. I am in my sixteenth year teaching in this wonderful school district!

I teach students with special needs who are truly amazing!

They work hard​ but struggle with a variety of subject areas. I work with intermediate students to provide additional support in math and literacy. I work with an all-star staff and I'm lucky to work with many of the classrooms in my school building. All of the students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch. Also, all of the students I work with, always try their best each and every day. The students at my school are fantastic and I truly love working with them so much!

My Project

I need some high-interest books for my students and the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book is definitely one for sure! We have every other book in the Diary of A Wimpy Kid series and my students are excited for the next one, "Wrecking Ball," to come out. Last year, we were excited for "Meltdown" as students were able to answer questions based on the text and we all laughed at some of the antics in the text along the way. Many of my fifth graders read the last book and are so excited about the newest book and I told them it will be coming soon. We will read these books in small group intervention and work on summarizing throughout the book. We are thankful for your consideration of this project.
