This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My class is full of excitement and unique learning. We are a class made up of various disabilities but do not allow our disabilities to affect our learning. My goal is to continue to engage my students with functional learning skills that will enable them to become self-sufficient individuals in the community they live in. Due to the recent pandemic of COVID-19 and the constant change in how society operates, many retailers/companies are reverting to online services only.
Living in a world where technology is a major resource in communicating and living, it is imperative for students with disabilities to learn how to make safe online purchases.
This lesson will allow my students the opportunity to learn how to make online purchases, use their contact information for shipping, track packages, budgeting, exploring internet sites for a desired item, and prioritizing needs and wants. Transitioning from two years of virtual learning to in-person learning has been difficult for many of our students. Students have demonstrated challenges in staying focused, participating, and staying motivated. The requested Amazon gift cards will serve as a reward to help motivate and encourage students to participate and master the goal. The gift cards will also allow students to engage in a real-world learning experience and receive a gift they may need or desire. Your gift will help sow into our learning. Thank you for helping me encourage my students to excel.
