Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Approximately 90% of the students at my site are socio-economically disadvantaged. Roughly 85% are of Hispanic descent. We also have the largest homeless student population in the entire district. However, our students come to class everyday, giving 110% to better themselves. These students are driven to succeed and excel and sometimes just need a little incentive or push to get going and to get there. Just about all of my students have sometime of electronic device at home.

My students are special because all of this adversity and the deck being stacked against them, they continue to come to school and do their very best.

We are slowly making progress and raising scores, but it is a long process. This subscription will shorten the process.

My Project

Students have read the first book, Belle Prater's Boy. This book is the sequel, The Search from Belle Prater. This last book brings the story to a conclusion. These books will enable the students to complete the series and see the character's through to the end of the story. My students respond much be tter following the character's of one book to the end.

Our school has the first book The Search for Belle Prater.

However, we do not have the sequel The Search for Belle Prater. These funds will assist in getting the sequel for the students to finish the story.
