I teach at a large, urban public school with almost one thousand thirty students. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with the majority of our students receiving a free or reduced-price lunch. Our school is one of the most ethnically diverse schools with a very active military influence.
I teach future authors, members of the military, doctors, teachers, engineers and productive future contributors to society.
I teach students who are always asking why and ready to take learning to the next step.
My students are always learning and growing. They are sponges who are inhaling information faster than I can give it to them. They love reading and are always looking for new ways to gain knowledge.
Scope Magazine provides an amazing opportunity for me to foster their love of learning while also exposing them to news from around the world, in student-friendly language.
With Scope, I want to lead my students in activities to learn about the world. This magazine is useful in helping me teach my students how to read scientific articles, profiles on places around the world, and many other kinds of writing.
