The Road To Fables
My students need new books for our classroom library, so can continue to grow a love for reading.
"Reading gives us a place to go, when we have to stay where we are."
Our school went from 400 to 900 students over the summer due to the demand for a high-quality, college-preparatory school in our neighborhood.
The result is our library has been stretched thin. For many of our families, their student will be the first in their family to graduate high school, let alone college! The path to college and beyond begins in primary school in creating a lifelong love of reading.
I am requesting Fable books because remember when you were first learning to read, the first time you fell in love with a book, you made new friends, visited new places and went on all kinds of journeys. The scholars in my classroom read on a level anywhere from kindergarten to a middle school level. I want all of my scholars to have books they can read independently that will take them to these new worlds.
The reality for my scholars is that the only journeys they may get to go on, is the ones they are able to go on in books.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
