There are no students at our school, only cadets. Children walk into the school and all receive the same title. As cadets, the students all start at the same level and can only go up from there. Every quarter they are evaluated and can move up to a new rank, all the way to a knight. We are very focused on positive incentives to encourage our cadets to grow and achieve great things.
My classroom is filled with 29 bright, caring, wonderful cadets who come to school every day no matter what is going on at home, ready to learn.
All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. School is the only place that they know that they are going to receive food. My cadets walk into school and encounter a consistent schedule and staff, more than what most of them receive at home.
With this project, I hope to bring a new and exciting experience in a struggling environment.
My Project
As remote learning continues, the need for supplies to provide the best online support is in demand. Remote learning is a new adventure in teaching, and with this journey, new things are needed to provide proper education. As I continue to teach from school with no students present, I am in need of the proper materials. I am sitting more hours than ever before.
Teaching through a computer has allowed my to see how important it is to model a good learning posture.
Home learning is new for most students, and so they need a good model to learn proper etiquette. A new office chair and stand for the laptop will allow me to make sure that I am modeling the correct behavior and posture. These are so important for my students to see and learn this life long skill correctly at an early age.
