Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

In my sixth grade Social Studies classes, I play various games to help my students learn, such as Mind Jogger and Baseball. Also, when we read new information aloud, I ask questions to keep them actively engaged in the lesson. They can earn extra points for class participation and for staying on task. However, I can only call on one student at a time. If I had mini dry erase boards for each of my students, I can get more students to take an active part in the lesson. They can write their answers on the boards at the same time, and more students can earn the participation points. This will let them feel more successful in the classroom. At present, when I call on someone, others will become frustrated saying, "I knew that one!" If possible, can I have a classroom set of mini dry erase boards and markers? This will truly help create a classroom that is conducive and eager to learning. I can also use the boards to motivate students who need hands-on or visual stimulation.
