My students need a carpet, book storage, and comfy seating to create a cozy place to read.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
We have a classroom full of pre-schoolers who love to read, but right now we have no special place in our classroom for the children to settle down and read quietly.
My students are 3, 4, and 5 year olds who qualify for an "at risk" preschool program.
We are a high poverty school and the children need an environment that is rich in literacy experiences. They have a natural love of reading and learning that just needs to be inspired.
I am requesting the materials to make a reading corner for my students. If they have a quiet cozy place to go snuggle down with a book, it will help motivate them to spend more time reading. I believe in the power of books to open the world to children. I would love to give them a space that will inspire them to create lifelong connection with books. Our classroom is a loud and sometimes raucous place, I'd love for there to be a special corner dedicated just to reading.
I am requesting a reading bench with book storage underneath, a bright carpet, a reading pillow, and a colorful canopy to shelter the space and make it especially appealing and inviting.
There is nothing more powerful we can give children than the love of reading.
By giving my children a special place to read, you will help them to learn how special reading is and how much joy and knowledge books can bring them throughout their lives.
