The mission our school is to "develop the capacity for leadership in all students, empowering them to make positive contributions to our communities." Students represent a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences from all across Boston.
My students are readers, writers, artists and brilliant thinkers, capable and eager to ask and pursue difficult questions and challenge existing systems.
They are curious, determined and critically thinking individuals, committed to both their own development as thinkers and future leaders as well as the growth of the community around them.
In this pursuit, I would like to provide them with access and exposure to other brilliant writers and thinkers through a library as rich in diverse thought, culture and experience as my students are.
It is my goal to provide my students with a classroom library that engages, excites and enriches them, through books that represent a wider range of experience than is often presented to them. The aim is for students to be able to more authentically connect with books and to build (or grow) a genuine enjoyment of the process of reading.
By helping fund this project, you are supporting the growth of a community in which reading is not a task but an experience.
Your contribution will hopefully help us start a collection that houses someone's inspiration, someone's escape, someone's favorite character. These books will help us put down the foundation for a library that I am committed to expanding. The dream is for a library in which any student who looks can find a book in which he or she can become lost and fall in love.
