"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." Dr. Seuss believes that children are natural scholars, and when supplied with a rich and dynamic learning environment, they are motivated to become enthusiastic and self-motivated learners.
Our students come from a low-income area, with nearly 100% qualifying for free or reduced-price lunches.
This environment can produce certain obstacles to education, such as an inability to meet a child's basic needs, working parents who may lack the time or resources to provide academic supports, and a whole slew of other difficulties. While these challenges exist, they do not deter our students from striving towards goals and succeeding in endeavors. Through our commitment to developing relationships, building supports, and creating a positive learning environment, I continue to see the gap lessen. Our school does everything it can to support the needs of our children both academically and socially. Our children continue to show scholarship, purpose, and grit and need a classroom that will continue to foster their growth.
I have always wanted to attend the one-day training at the Ron Clark Academy. The educators at the Ron Clark Academy take teaching and learning to a whole new level by engaging students and making real-world connections to everything that they teach! I will apply what I learn at the Ron Clark Academy by bringing back all of my new learning to my new classroom. I teach at a high poverty school and want to go above and beyond to bring creative and innovative strategies to my students. I want my students to have big dreams for their future and I truly believe that the strategies that the teachers use at Ron Clark Academy will help bring my instruction to life and make my students' dreams come true!
