Our school is a large public high school located in central California. The school population consists of a diverse group of 2,900 students in grades 9th-12th. Our students participate in numerous educational classes, vocational pathways, sports, music, drama, and various service clubs.
My Chemistry students are very excited to explore and learn about the concepts of the Rainbow Spectrum in our classes as well as creating a beautiful array of Tye-dye art using Blick Art colors.
Our students will be excited to incorporate the concepts of the rainbow along with the spectrum of color evidenced by the seven colors of the spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet) into individual art.
The Beauty of the Rainbow Spectrum is a natural phenomenon, but knowing the significance of each of the colors of the rainbow makes it even more incredible to view.
The Blick colorization products will coordinate with both the art and science aspects of this educational experience promoting the connection of concepts in chemistry.
Students will apply the use of ROY G BIV within the classroom as well as beyond the classroom to explore the spectrum analysis variances. A rainbow spans a continuous spectrum of colors; the distinct bands are an artifact of human color vision. In ROYGBIV, the colors are arranged in the order of decreasing wavelengths.
