The Quest for Virutal Reality

Help me give my students the opportunity to experience virtual reality with the purchase of the Oculus Quest VR system.

My Students

Our school is nestled in the heart of eastern Kentucky, which was once surrounded by bustling coal mines. Now, with many of them closed, our families often struggle to find employment and opportunities for their children.

Each child I work with loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.

ALL students are LEARNERS. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to make sure they all learn- even if it is virtually this year! We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!

My Project

Students are using virtual reality technologies to learn and train, it is time to prepare our students for this future! The future is Virtual Reality!

Students will be able to experience virtual field trips, dive underwater in the Great Barrier Reef to witness the effects of ocean acidification, and collaborate to solve virtual problems or to dissect a virtual frog.

The virtual reality headsets have built-in computers so there are no wires. Students will be safe and free to explore new virtual worlds that will inspire students to explore and understand our real-world better. Engaging!

This project uses the Oculus Quest VR system to explore the application of virtual reality in STEAM. Students will have access to a variety of applications where they will be able to paint, explore physics and chemistry concepts, engineer structures, and make models. Other applications will encourage critical thinking and collaboration as they work in teams to accomplish a variety of goals. The Oculus Quest VR system is a cutting-edge virtual reality platform that is sure to bridge the gap between reality and the impossible!

The Oculus Quest VR system will be used by ALL students during STEAM class to experience the virtual reality opportunities.
