Our doors may have only been opened a short four years ago, but our teachers, students, and parents have already molded into a community.
My class full of third graders are hard and happy workers who have a deep yearning to learn.
Their intrinsic motivation and curiosity amplifies their natural abilities.
Collaboration, friendliness, and dedication to our students abound. Our school prides itself in teaching and motivating students to exhibit worthwhile characteristics such as perseverance, respect, initiative, determination, and engagement.
My Project
My students need four more Chromebooks to create a 1:2 technology ratio. Having a 1:2 ratio allows us to use technology in our classrooms more frequently. With technology the limits are endless to my students education explorations.
Technology is an essential part of education in the twenty-first century.
My third graders have just finished learning how to type and are now ready to take on the technological world to help scaffold and accelerate their learning.
Using Chromebooks is a daily part of my students routine.
In order for this technology to be more effective a 1:2 Chromebook ratio would allow every student the opportunity to use technology to assist with writing, reading, science, social studies, and math.
Chromebooks would also allow all of my students to type their writing projects, listen to and read books online, research science and social studies topics, use online math manipulatives, and so much more.
The opportunities in teaching are endless when we have technology. That being said, I do not believe that technology replaces good teaching. As George Courous said, "Technology will never replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of great teachers is transformational."
