This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very special because they defy all the odds of living in poverty, lack of parental support and supplies to attend school which will afford them a better future. My students and our school struggle with attendance, as we are a Title I school. I hope to minimize any external factors such as lack of supplies, and low attendance that would propel my students to soar to higher heights.
We have many students, most of them are reading below grade level, receiving a score of a 1 or 2 on state exams.
I try to provide essential resources to build and challenge my students' daily reading, math, and social skills. As such, I have to plan specific work with differentiated planning to reach all of my students. The My students need one-on-one and small group instruction during Center Time. My students live in a large urban city. Our school is located in a multicultural area surrounding by low income families.
Although our school is a Title I school, most of our students lack essential supplies. Unfortunately, my school does not provide enough supplies to our students. With your help, my students and I will strive to great heights.
My Project
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given the opportunity to work in small groups.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional opportunity in the class to work with each other in small groups and peer teach.
The printer will afford us to make copies from various texts such as NY Coach Plus, and Ready New York CCLS, both in Math and ELA. And, the toner will help supply enough copies in preparation for our State Exams in March - June 202. These resources, the printer and toner, will be extremely beneficial for all of my students because I don't have a copy for each student. The color copier will provide a vivid pictures that will enhanced learning in a fun way. Remember this famous saying, 'A picture is worth a thousand words." Imagine in color, that would be even better for my students.
I have seen how my choice can positively affect my students, and I believe I have to do whatever it takes to ensure that they all succeed. Will your help, I know they have a greater chance to soar to higher heights.
