My Students

In our school district we strive for not only a community of learners, but a community of caring and successful individuals. My 5th grade class is made up of students from all walks of life, and they are extremely bright! They each have unique learning styles that require multiple methods of instruction.

My students are determined, crafty, and extremely motivated to be successful.

Our school is a melting pot of ethnic backgrounds and our vision is to create "A positive, respectful learning community where we care, strive, learn, and grow” among all students. As a novice teacher, I have learned a great deal about how truly wonderful it is to be apart of such an involved district. I truly love our little beach town and all my wonderful students!

My Project

This project will give students the ability to create using technology, as well as provide the ability to project writing onto the board from anywhere in the room. This project will allow not only the students but also me (a novice, pregnant teacher) abilities limited by a pure whiteboard.

Teaching is a challenging yet extremely rewarding occupation; however, teaching while pregnant can be highly difficult.

If funded, this project will not only aid in providing students with new technology but also providing me, the teacher, with the ability to publish information from anywhere in the room. The Apple Pencil is an innovative tool that will be used in our classroom for sketching during our Readers Theatre centers. These centers are an extremely successful way to engage students in their texts. This method is also proven to develop students’ understanding and comprehension of any given text.
