Our high school is the only high school in our city! My students come in excited to learn and gain new knowledge in my mathematics classroom. My pre-AP students are eager to expand their math skills to be as prepared as they possibly can be for their AP class next year. All of my students are always helping each other to grow together in our tight-knit community.
Our high school serves all the high school students in our city with a little over 1,000 students.
Our school population is very diverse with students of various cultures and with about 65% of the student population come from a low-income family background, yet we have less than a 1% dropout rate!
My Project
My students need help getting a printer with ink for their classroom! Some of my students come in during their lunch period to work on schoolwork without distractions from the loud lunchroom - during these times they need a printer from time to time to print their essays, lab reports, worksheets, etc. to complete their homework/schoolwork.
They say practice makes perfect and therefore, the printer (with ink) will help us to print copies of extra math problems to master their math skills!
The extra math problems will help my students to practice various difficulty level problems, whether it be practicing basic skills to make it their own or challenging questions to think critically. Furthermore, some of my students like to print SAT style math problems to practice for their standardized testing that will be coming up during their most important junior year.
