This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My Genetics class reviews several biotechnology concepts including polymerase chain reaction or PCR. My students are familiar with these technologies because of COVID, but are unaware of how the technology actually works.

If my project is funded, my students will be able to perform a PCR reaction in a lab setting and gain an understanding of this complex technology.

In the end, my students will know what it means when a doctor sends off a potential COVID sample for PCR testing.

Having this opportunity for my students will positively impact their education!
