My Students

Have you ever collaborated to study a piece of literature? Literature circles are powerful, student led book studies that encourage children to question one another and dig deeper into the literature they are reading.

My school is often overlooked as we are not in a low income demographic; however, budget cuts have affected the supplies we are able to purchase.

Without the necessary books to conduct literature circles, these children will miss out on invaluable learning opportunities.

My Project

Children will be able to work in small groups while exploring classic, grade level literature. In literature circles, students determine the pace of their reading, lead discussions among their peers, and delve into the heart of understanding literature. Reading fluency increases, understanding improves, and comprehension strategies are shared among peers.

Your contribution will most definitely have an impact on these bright and engaging students by providing them with classic literature, inspiring a love of learning and a passion for reading.
