My Students

During these last few crazy years with COVID, our students are different. My 7th and 8th-grade math students are all at different levels and they all learn differently. My students love when I give them a chance to walk around or sit somewhere other than their boring desks. My students thrive on change. Having different seating options would help them focus on their learning.

My Project

Hi there, my name is Carisa Meyer and I am a middle school math teacher in Keokuk, Iowa. Students have changed so much over the years and with the pandemic, things are different. I want to give my students the opportunity to choose how they learn. I remember being on their side of learning and sitting in the same boring desks all day. Flexible seating is how I want to change that. During free time, my students love to sit on the floor, at my small group tables, honestly, anywhere that IS NOT their desk. Help me give my students the POWER of CHOICE in my classroom.
