The students in my journalism and mass media classes are working on creating an online presence for the school through social media. With the creation of various platform accounts, they are actively building awareness of school events and student accomplishments within the school and are moving to the community at large. The students in my class are in grades 9-12 and many of them are looking to pursue journalism or communications in college. This project will be an important step in developing their awareness of the growing and changing news media. Ours is a school of 1300 students with over 50% eligible for FRL.
The students here are achieving great things-academically, athletically, socially, and more-and my class is working to ensure these students get the recognition they deserve.
They are hoping to build their advertising and awareness initiatives to promote their peers and the school they love.
My Project
Our journalism and mass media classes will be working to create a podcast for our school. With so many amazing things going on both by the student body as a whole and as individual students, there are stories to be told and ideas to be shared.
The RODECaster Pro will be the hub of our podcast.
This will allow the student journalists to tell the remarkable stories of the students at this school. The class has been focused on celebrating the accomplishments around them in print but has been looking to move forward with the trends of today's media.
The podcasts will center around academic achievement, study tips, athletic accomplishments, community services performed, inspirational individuals, and a million other amazing things happening around the school and community.
