My Students

My 8th and 9th grade students are full of talent and are constantly looking for ways to express themselves musically. In addition to their scheduled hour of music, my students are in the music room before and after school to engage in as much music as they can! With most of our students coming from low income households, our students seek opportunities at school to get involved and feel like a family. They need a place to belong. The music department provides them with that opportunity!

My Project

Lakeside Jr. High Choir Program will use these keyboards to enhance the student's music education. Most of my students want to play the one piano we have in class and with these keyboards, now all students can learn and play the piano.

These keyboards will help students with musicianship basics, foster musical growth, and develop music composition skills.

The resources for learning how to play the piano are endless if the students have pianos to practice on. Our goal is to help students understand their love of music through many different avenues. These keyboards will be one of those avenues.
